Gemma is from South Uist in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland and founded The St Jerome’s Centre in 2009. She is a qualified Occupational Therapist with a passion for addiction recovery in both the UK and East Africa.
Beth first went to Kenya aged 18, where she met Gemma, Becky and Ben and opened the original St Jerome’s Centre. Her role as secretary involves daily communications and administrative duties, which she balances alongside her job as an NHS doctor in Cardiff. She has spent a lot of time working with street children in Nakuru, some of whom have been rehomed at The St Jerome’s Centre.
Becky works as a physiotherapist for the NHS in Portsmouth, specialising in neurology. For The St Jerome’s Centre she takes care of the accounts, finances, charity registration reporting and gift aid. The invaluable work she does behind the scenes helps to keep The St Jerome’s Centre running.
Ben Lock has been involved with St Jerome’s from the get go in 2009. He is from Midhurst in the South of England and specialises in photography and runs our social media sites.
David first visited Kenya aged 18. He currently works as an NHS doctor. His role includes coordinating fundraising efforts, and leading with our LAPB Scholarship programme.
Hazel is from the midlands and currently works as an NHS doctor in South Wales.
Lauren is a Physiotherapist working in London. She supports the St Jerome’s Centre through fundraising efforts, future sponsorship planning and website development.
