At The St Jerome’s Centre we are always looking forward. Our vision, to bring hope and change, involves four key goals. Click below to find out more:

We firmly believe that a sound education whether it be academic or vocational is essential to a secure future with good job prospects, and therefore a more comfortable life. Primary school is free in Kenya therefore every child at St Jerome’s is guaranteed a full primary education where we cover additional costs such as uniforms and stationery. However, the next stage of education requires fees for secondary school. Alternatively, for those who are not academically gifted we are beginning to explore vocational courses. In order to fund this life changing further education we need further financial support.
For our over 18s who have completed secondary school, or an equivalent vocational course, we are exploring the best way to introduce them to independence. We have recently built a ‘halfway house’ on a plot of land near the children’s home. This comprises of small flats which we offer to our older children at a reduced rent for up to 1 year.

We hope that this gives them a platform to seek out work and permanent accommodation in order to start their adult lives; all while under the watchful eye of our staff who are just round the corner! We are yet to complete half of these units and continue to fundraise money so that this may be possible.

In addition to our work at the St Jerome’s Centre, we have started to develop a local feeding programme. We currently provide a lunch for 33 disadvantaged children at our local primary school, ensuring they have at least one full meal per day.

Currently, we are fully reliant on fundraising and the kind generosity of individual sponsors, whose monthly donations cover the basic running costs of our home. In order to achieve our ambitious goals, we need to broaden our financial income.

In 2024, we are aiming to build meaningful partnerships with businesses in the UK. With wider financial support, we can begin to build a secure future for the St Jerome’s Centre and the wider community.
